At
Keyes Toyota, we believe in going the extra mile for our customers. As a
leading Los Angeles Toyota dealer, we do more than just provide you with
great Toyota brand cars, but we ensure that all of your automotive questions
and concerns are answered in full; and no subject is quite as popular as
knowing how to change a flat tire.
Our
tires are durable, but they’re not indestructible. Wear and tear and the occasional deep pothole can spell the end for our tires and knowing how to
change a flat tire can make all the difference in your overall driving
experience.
Before
you even experience a flat tire, it is important that you equip your vehicle
with all the necessary tools. These tools include a car jack, a wrench, an air
pressure gauge, and an air compressor.
If you end up popping a tire, the first
thing you’ll want to do is pull over into a safe area that gives you enough
space to change the tire. With your vehicle parked safely, use the car jack to
raise your vehicle. With the flat tire raised, use the wrench to loosen and
remove the lug nuts that hold the tire in place. Remove the flat, then check
the air pressure on your spare. If your spare tire’s air pressure levels are
low, we recommend using the air compressor to bring them back up to optimal
levels. With the wrench and lug nuts, secure your spare to the vehicle’s axel.
While
you may have four working tires, the work is far from over. Before you take to
the open road again, you should visit our Toyota service team who can either repair your flat or set you up
with a replacement tire. At Keyes Toyota, we strive to make your auto
experience incredible, both on and off our lot.
