Getting Your Vehicle Ready for Fall

Now that fall has arrived, you should get your vehicle ready for the new season. While autumn isn’t as hard on automobiles as winter is, it’s still a great time to prep your vehicle for anything Mother Nature may have in store. This is particularly true if you plan to travel to areas with changeable weather in your car.

If your vehicle has small scratches, you should take fall’s arrival as your cue to fix them. If you don’t want to make an appointment to bring your car into our Toyota service center, visit our Van Nuys, CA Toyota parts department to pick up a repair kit. It’s important to repair scratches, especially those that expose the metal underneath your car’s paint, to prevent rust from forming.

You should also inspect your tires to make sure they have enough tread to get you through fall. If it’s been a while since you had your tires rotated, you should make an appointment to bring your vehicle into our Toyota service department near North Hollywood, CA. You should have your tires rotated regularly to ensure they wear evenly and last as long as possible.

Just like you should rotate your tires often, you should change your oil and oil filter in keeping with the recommendations in your owner’s manual. If you can’t find your owner’s manual, the general rule is to change your oil every 3,000 – 5,000 miles or every three months. To have your oil and oil filter changed, bring your car into our Toyota service center.

Do you want to know what else you should do to prepare your automobile for fall? If so, we encourage you to give us a call, contact us online, or stop by Keyes Toyota to get more preparation tips today.
