Next-Gen Green Cars From Toyota

Here at Keyes Toyota, we know that more drivers are shopping for green cars these days. Fortunately for you, Toyota has been paying attention. The brand recently unveiled some ambitious plans for the electric vehicle market. If you love green cars like the iconic Toyota Prius, you'll soon have many more choices to pick from.

By the early 2020's, the Toyota brand will have at least 10 all-electric, battery-powered cars in its lineup. This is a part of its ambitious plans to sell one million electric cars annually by the end of that decade. By 2025 or so, all new Toyota models will be available as a hybrid or electric car. Whether you're shopping for a sedan or SUV, you'll be able to lower your carbon footprint in a Toyota car.

To accomplish this, Toyota engineers are teaming up with companies like Panasonic to develop better batteries. The ones currently used in its vehicles are thinner and lighter, but its researchers aren't stopping there. The next step is the development of “solid-state” batteries. These offer a few advantages over the current technology used in electric vehicles, including a longer lifespan, a farther range, and faster charging.

For many drivers, the main thing that keeps them from buying an electric vehicle is “range anxiety.” This is the worry that a car won't be able to get them from point A to point B without needing to recharge. On that same note, you don't want to spend a bunch of time charging your car. Solid-state batteries and next-generation Toyota cars could tackle both of those problems.

So when you're shopping for a greener, more innovative car, make our Los Angeles Toyota dealership your first stop. We'll make it easy to find a vehicle that offers the features you need while reducing your carbon footprint. We look forward to assisting you!
