A Sporty New Toyota Concept

Here at Keyes Toyota, we always love to see what kind of new Toyota cars are in the works. One that recently caught our eye was the Toyota GR Super Sport Concept. This incredible vehicle is based on an actual race car and it could actually become a production model. That means that you could find an incredible new performance car on our lot just a few years from now.

If you buy a Toyota car, we bet that the first thing on your mind is reliability. Maybe you also consider a Toyota vehicle a good purchase because of its safety or convenience features. Vehicles like the 2018 Toyota Camry and 2018 Toyota Corolla recently received some sporty upgrades, but we know that performance isn't always the primary consideration for drivers shopping at our dealership. A “halo car” like the Toyota GR Super Sport Concept could change that perception.

This unique model, which just made its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon, is based on a racecar built by Gazoo Racing, the Toyota brand's motorsports division and where this concept receives the “GR” in its name from. It doesn't quite look like anything on the road, with its sleek two-door design and low riding chassis. This concept is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine and a hybrid powertrain, giving it a total output of more than 980 horsepower! While a production vehicle may not offer that much power, the style of this unique concept and some of its mechanical underpinnings could serve as a jumping off point for the design of a new performance car.
